Steven Durrant, 76, of Keaau died April 29 at home. Born in London, he was a master carpenter and former member of Puna Canoe Club and Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Doris “Nikki” Ho, 75, of North Las Vegas, Nev., died Nov. 17. Born in Hilo, she was a retired clerk for the Honolulu City Council and 1961 Hilo High School alumna. Survived by daughters, Richelle (Marwin) Sabado of Vancouver, Wash., Dawn (Timothy) Shiinoki-Ho of Kaneohe, Oahu, and Darcie (Aryn) Nakaoka of Honolulu; siblings, Ellen (David) Nakamura and Ronald Nakahara of Hilo; six grandchildren.
Michie “Grandma Alice” Nishimoto, 97, of Hilo died April 30. Born in Papaikou, she was retired from Hilo Medical Center, was a volunteer foster grandparent at Waiakea Elementary School and member of Pomaikai Senior Center and Hakalau Jodo Mission/Fujinkai. Private services held. Survived by son, William (Dee) Choy Hee of Laupahoehoe; daughter, Coleen (Wayne) Howard of Hilo; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; cousins. Linda Norton Savell, 79, of Captain Cook died May 1 at home. Born in Detroit, she was a potter, clay sculptor, former nurse and medical office manager. Private services held. No flowers.
